Epazote
[also Mexican Tea, Jerusalem Oak, Wormseed or Goosefoot]
(Chenopodium ambrosiodes)
Family: Chenopodiaceae
The herb grows wild over much of the Americas and Europe. The seeds
possess anthelmintic properties, destroying or expelling parasitic worms
particularly of the intestine. It is widely used as a green herb and
as a tisane in Europe. The leaves are very strongly scented, and are
widely used to add a unique flavor to Mexican and Southwestern cuisine.
