Family: Labiatae
Native to England with a low creeping habit, like thyme, and lovely
tiny magenta flowers. This aromatic herb is used like thyme for flavoring.
The plant varies much in degree of hairiness. It has a pleasant, aromatic
smell, somewhat similar, though weaker, than that of Thyme, to which,
however, in general appearance, it bears little resemblance. Basil Thyme
has almost as many botanical names in its history as it presently has
common names.
