Family: Polygonaceae
Native to Mexico but now common in tropical and warm countries, this plant is a robust decorative flowering vine up to thirty feet or more, with heart-shaped leaves and delicate pink or white flowers. In Thailand, the leaves and flowers are served with vermicelli after dipped in flour and fried. The flowers can also be mixed into omelettes.
